Today, we remember those men and women who gave their lives serving our country. Many of us will honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice by attending a parade, visiting cemeteries, and attending prayer services.

That is what Memorial Day is all about.

Today is not about: The unofficial start of summer, going to department stores for 20% off on some overstocked item, doing chores around the house, attending sporting events, or going to the movies.

Please remember, Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance. Picnics and days at the beach are secondary.
