Already Sick of Christmas Music

Suppose to be "The Beatles"

Thanksgiving just ended and with that comes the ever earlier Christmas Season. Shopping, wrapping gifts and Christmas music. Lots and lots of Christmas music.

It's not even December yet and some FM stations have gone to an all Christmas music format. What is the rush? Why so early with the Christmas music?

It's only November and I am already sick of Christmas music.

At this point, I do not care...

... what kind of Christmas Bing Crosby is dreaming about.

... if your bells jingle. (that's bells).

... if the little drummer boy breaks one of his drum sticks.

... if your halls have holly on them.

... if you want to wish me a Merry Christmas in English or Spanish.

Don't get me started on that Christmas song by "Wham."

Why can't department stores and radio stations hold off on playing Christmas music until at least December. Better yet, wait about two weeks until Christmas. Then maybe I won't be so sick of it.

Maybe next year. I won't hold my breath, just have to plug my ears.

Black Friday: 1AM Wake Up Call

For all you die hard shoppers. This is your 1AM wake up call.

Black Friday is here once again. Most stores are opening at 3AM, 4AM or 5AM and offering deals in order to get you into their stores.

I for one do not understand why someone would go shopping in the middle of the night?

Most people have the day after Thanksgiving off. Why would you want to get up early when you do not have to? Most people have to get up early everyday for work. Weekdays off of work are rare and should not be wasted by shopping at an obscene hour.

I know what you die hard shoppers are going to say.

Neil, what are you doing up at 1AM offering us a wake up call if you think Black Friday shopping is a waste of time?

Good question. The answer is simple. I am not up on this Black Friday morning at 1AM. I am sound asleep. I set this post to be published at this time. I do not plan to be on my feet until hours after the sun comes up.

Well for those who will be going out to shop in the overnight hours:

1. Be safe

2. Be courteous

3. Do not wake up any sane members of your family who prefer sleep then shopping.

Also, below is a clip of Black Friday shopping. Crazy.

The evening after...

My servant "Jeeves" hastily washing the dishes

It's the evening after Thanksgiving.

The dinner has been eaten and the beverages have been consumed.

All of my guests have left. Overall, it was a great Thanksgiving.

Now it time to watch another football game. My servant "jeeves" is washing the dishes.

Happy Thanksgiving

Whether you are staying home, traveling across town, across the state, or across the country to be with family and friends.

Please remember to give "Thanks" this Thanksgiving.

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles

I was looking through TV guide looking for any good movies on this Thanksgiving week.

To my dismay, I noticed the Christmas movie season has already started. The movie "Elf" was twice on Sunday. I won't even mention the "made for TV movies" on Lifetime and Hallmark."

Are there no Thanksgiving movies that people want to watch?

There is one movie: "Planes, Train's & Automoblies"

The movie is about ad advertising executive and a shower curtain ring salesman try to get back to Chicago in time for Thanksgiving and have many misadventures. A Classic with the great Steve Martin and the late great John Candy.

Take a guess on how many times this movie will be on Thanksgiving weekend? None!

The movie "Groundhog Day" is on many times in early February. "Christmas Story" has a 24 hour marathon on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and yet no television station could bother to air "Planes, Train's & Automobiles even once this Thanksgiving.

I will have to compose an e-mail to my cable company and Steve Martin. Hopefully, this oversight will be corrected for next year. Guess I will just have to settle for clips from Youtube.

Most Annoying Commercial

I believe this is the most annoying commercial that has ever aired on television.

Agree or Disagree?

Veterans Day

Please take time out of your busy schedule today (and everyday) to remember those individuals who serve and have served honorably in the military.

Thank you.

Military.com has an excellent article about the history of Veterans Day in the United States. Click here to read.

Management Convention

The "key" executives, at my place of employment, recently posed for this picture at one of their many useless Management conventions.

My place of employment is not technically a circus, but is run like one.

Election Day

"If, I'm elected, the first thing...."

"Can I count on your vote?"

"Vote for me because I'm better then my opponent."

"Can I put a sign on your lawn?"

This Election season is almost over. In less then ten minutes, the polls will open and hopefully many people will cast their votes for the best candidate. (or the lesser of two evils.)

I am sure the politicians will be out in full force at the polling places trying to persuade that still undecided voter.

I will not miss the constant phone messages left on my answering machine, nor the countless commercials.

It seems every year these election campaigns are more cut throat, dirty, and slanderous.

Well, I encourage you all who registered to get out there and vote. If you don't like either candidate you can always write in another name.

Like my name: Neil Bytes. Maybe for Governor.

If I'm elected, my first order of business will be to reduce the work week from five days to two days!!

I'm Neil Bytes and I approve this message.
