It's the end of August, which means if your a college student:
It's the First Day of School.
Classes start today for most Colleges and Universities.
I saw many college students dressed in shorts and T-shirts rushing to class this afternoon. It seems like the dress code for college students seems to get more relaxed every five or ten years.
I remember when I was in college in the 1990's. I don't remember anyone wearing shorts, even during the summer session.
Below is a clip from the movie "Back to School" starring Rodney Dangerfield. Note that back in the 1980's, college students wore sport jackets to class, some wore ties.
How times have changed.

The jury in the Rod Blagojevich trial finally came back with a verdict today of (drum roll please) guilty one one count of lying. The other twenty three counts the verdict was ..... nothing... a hung jury.
The jury could not decide guilty or not guilty on the the other twenty three counts Blagojevich was on trial for The judge had no choice but to declare a mistrial.
I did not follow the day to day proceedings of the trial. I thought the taped conversations that sounded liked Blagojevich were damning, however I was not in the courtroom.
The jury apparently had a tough time with the evidence presented and could not reach a verdict after two weeks.
The government says it will seek another trial. Hope they do a better job this time around.
I assume Blagojevich will appeal his one count conviction.
The wheel of justice spins round and round.
